A school is more than a place for learning, it is a community where students evolve and discover their talents, abilities and dreams.   School identity helps the students achieve a sense of belonging and pride.  It also serves as the scenario for their academic and social development.  Our Proposal utilizes these ideas as the inspiration for the spatial and architectural planning for the addition and remodeling of The New Elementary School and New Secondary School of Music of Guaynabo, combined with the precepts set forth in the Schools for the 21st Century Design Guidelines and Objectives. We strive to re-create into the existing school site a firm sense of belonging and pride, yet, with architectural features that will integrate their support facilities to the community thus becoming a social, cultural and academic icon in its surroundings.
