Guaynabo

The lot, with minimal frontage in a cul-de-sac, was the most important design challenge, since the company needed a large presence and visibility. The solution was to create a cylindrical entranceway that would function as a hinge between the two main structures—the main building and the parking structure.

This unifying element was raised to create a focal point that would be visible from a distance, with an electronic screen to display messages pertinent to the company. This cylindrical volume is crowned with a two-story space for seminars, meetings and promotional activities. At night, this illuminated space recalls a lantern or lighthouse.

The storm shutters on the façade are mounted on pivots so that they serve as brises-soleil in normal weather and can be closed completely in stormy weather to protect the glass windows.
